Forum: GratefulDead Subject: Streaming shows and bitrate

I stream shows on 2 different computers in the house. I use Windows Media Player on both. Interestingly, one of my computers regularly receives the streams at 400-550 kbps while the other plays the exact show at 170-190kbps. obviously the higher rate is a lot cleaner and crispier. So, what could it be?

Is there a setting ot something that I'm missing?

Thanks...

I'm not an expert on bit rate streams but I think it depends on the version of Media Player you're using and which operating system. I had a look on the Microsoft Knowledge Base and found this for Win 98. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/275530
If this doesn't help try searching the KB for your op. sys.
